JOBS, BCS and WITSA Organize Workshop on e-Marketing

A two-day workshop entitled “Marketing and Selling IT Solutions: What works?” will be held at premises of the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) on 2nd and 3rd June, 2004.

The workshop has been organized jointly by BCS, USAID – through Job Opportunities and Business Support (JOBS), a USAID funded project - and the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA). Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Minister for Science and Information Technology will be the Chief Guest at the workshop and will be attending the opening ceremony on June 2, 2004, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.

The workshop targets IT companies that provide software and related value added services (including Internet related services) to businesses within Bangladesh and across borders. It is designed to help Bangladeshi IT companies to increase their capabilities to market, sell and deliver services to clients worldwide. Experts from the US and Australia will be available at the workshop to provide examples from different parts of the world of companies that have applied e-marketing and e-commerce techniques successfully.

In addition, the workshop will address the following topics:

  • Key success factors in the sales cycle

  • Building out the value chain: the role of partnerships and alliances; and

  • Educating your customers: convincing them there is a pay-off.

A pre-workshop survey has been conducted among participants in order to identify their particular concerns and enable the consultants to address these issues.

About 50 companies registered with BCS for attendance at the workshop.
