A two-day workshop
entitled “Marketing and Selling IT Solutions: What works?”
will be held at premises of the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS)
on 2nd and 3rd June, 2004.
The workshop has
been organized jointly by BCS, USAID – through Job
Opportunities and Business Support (JOBS), a USAID funded
project - and the World Information Technology and Services
Alliance (WITSA). Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Minister for
Science and Information Technology will be the Chief Guest
at the workshop and will be attending the opening ceremony
on June 2, 2004, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
The workshop
targets IT companies that provide software and related value
added services (including Internet related services) to
businesses within Bangladesh and across borders. It is
designed to help Bangladeshi IT companies to increase their
capabilities to market, sell and deliver services to clients
worldwide. Experts from the US and Australia will be
available at the workshop to provide examples from different
parts of the world of companies that have applied
e-marketing and e-commerce techniques successfully.
In addition, the
workshop will address the following topics:

Key success
factors in the sales cycle
-
Building out the
value chain: the role of partnerships and alliances; and
-
Educating your
customers: convincing them there is a pay-off.
A pre-workshop
survey has been conducted among participants in order to
identify their particular concerns and enable the
consultants to address these issues.
