Imran
Shauket is a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of
experience in business development and program management. Working
in numerous private sector organizations, establishing and managing
self-owned concerns and working in international development through
universities, USAID and other donor programs, he has successfully
led large, complex initiatives in micro, small and medium enterprise
development, legal and regulatory reform, and policy advocacy. Mr.
Shauket has additional expertise in personnel, procurement, program
management, contract and grant administration and finance. He has
worked in diverse cultural and political regions, including Central
and Eastern Europe, Southern Africa, and South Asia. Mr. Shauket
organized and conducted training for CEE and NIS private sector
policy makers and practitioners in the areas of economic
restructuring and business development. Mr. Shauket is currently the
Project Director for a national-level private sector development
program in Bangladesh. In this capacity, he provides leadership in
the implementation of MSME business development, and guidance and
advice to cabinet ministers and senior officials of the Government
of Bangladesh. Under one of his notable initiatives, Bangladesh has
embarked on an e-enabling regulatory and political environment,
which is poised to globalize Bangladeshi products through
e-commerce. This MSME program is widely considered a flag-ship
success by USAID and other donors due to its innovative approaches
to private sector development through unique Business Development
Services (BDS). |
